Meet Your Doctors
Dr. Dave Ziegler
Dr. Dave Ziegler is a 1981 graduate of the Southern California College of Optometry. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and is an adjunct professor at the Houston College of Optometry. He serves on advisory panels to some of the top eyecare companies, participates in clinical research for contact lens and pharmaceutical companies and lectures internationally on a variety of eye care topics. He and his partner, Dr. Leffingwell, are the eye care providers for the Milwaukee Brewers and have also been team eye doctors for the Milwaukee Bucks, the Milwaukee Wave, and professional cycling teams.
Dr. Ziegler, his wife Barb have four grown children; Kristen, Lauren, Adam and Aaron. Kristen is also an optometrist and joined the practice in 2015. Dr. Ziegler enjoys riding his road bike, photography, and participating in medical missions to Third World Countries. You can see a short video of those trips here.
Dr. Chap Leffingwell
Dr. Chap Leffingwell is a 1989 graduate of Illinois College of Optometry and is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. He is a member of the American and Wisconsin Optometric Associations. He has lectured and taught on a variety of eye care topics. He is a team doctor for the Milwaukee Brewers, and has served as doctor for the Milwaukee Bucks, Milwaukee Wave, and Marquette University Athletics. He has participated in clinical investigations for Vistakon, AMO, Alcon, Bausch & Lomb, and Chiron. Dr. Leffingwell has served on the board of directors for the Wisconsin Optometric Association and serves as Wisconsin’s Vision Service Plan State Professional Representative. He has served as an adjunct assistant clinical professor in teaching optometry students from Pacific University College of Optometry and the Southern College of Optometry.
Outside the workplace, Dr. Leffingwell enjoys time with his wife, Tera, and their children, Lauren and CJ. He also enjoys sports of all types, participating in activities such as golfing, biking, and boating in the Wisconsin outdoors.
Dr. Kristen Ziegler
Dr. Kristen Ziegler received two Bachelors of Science degrees in Biology and Spanish from the University of Wisconsin at Madison in 2007, and her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 2014. She completed her internship training in clinics that specialized in complicated contact lens fits, retinal disease, and family practice for low-income, Spanish-speaking families. She is our practice’s bilingual doctor. She earned the national Alcon award for her management of medically-necessary contact lenses in 2014. Dr. Ziegler is a member of the Wisconsin and American Optometric Associations, and Young Professionals Club.
In her free time, she enjoys traveling, hiking, spinning, international mission work, playing outside with her rescue lab, Emma, and exploring Milwaukee.
